The Community works with 250 companies in the Region to define the development model of the Cartagena ZAR (05/04/2017)

The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure and Economic Development, Tourism and Employment are working with 250 companies in the Region to define the development model of the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of Cartagena.

Salvador García-Ayllón, the director general of Transport, Coast and Ports, said today that this project "is a clear example of public-private collaboration between public administrations and companies that will allow a large business logistics platform in Cartagena and attract investors National and international".

Garcia-Ayllón said that "progress is being made for the development and implementation of the ZAL of Cartagena, which will add to the city's attractions for the economic and business development of the Region, such as the Port of Cartagena."

The Director General presided over the meeting of the Technical Working Group of the Bureau of the ZAL of Cartagena, where he has reported on the work of the Economic-Financial Feasibility Study of logistics infrastructure.

In this contact with companies, their needs are being detected, such as surfaces, services and connections to infrastructures, and concrete aspects are being defined, such as functional design and infrastructure development phases.

Likewise, companies are evaluating the location of the ZAL of Cartagena in the Los Camachos industrial estate, which highlights its availability of suitable land for the development of this project and its non-interference with the growth of the city, as well as the generation of Synergies with the existing framework in the rest of the polygon.
