The XXIII Theater Competition of Pozo Estrecho, organized by the Theater Group 'La Aurora' and sponsored by the City of Cartagena, closed the edition of this year last Saturday April 1 with the representation of the work 'La Bernarda and his house 'In the civic center of the Association of Neighbors of San Fulgencio of this cartagenera deputation.
The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez.
The Deputy Mayor recalled the Galileans' enormous enthusiasm for theater and the arts in general and thanked the La Aurora Group for its work "which in these 23 years in Pozo Estrecho has managed to further strengthen this tradition.
Thank you because with your work you make bigger our town and all our municipality ".
Throughout the months of February and March the activities of the varied program of this edition have happened that have turned it into a contest of scenic arts in which the music and the dance are mixed with the main protagonist of the same, the theater .
The attendees have been able to enjoy in the contest of classic works like Yerma, by Federico García Lorca, as well as other more current works, like Trampa para pájaros, by Jose Luis Alonso de Santos.
The Theater Group 'La Aurora', represented an adaptation of 'A tram called Desire', 'Marquilla Terremoto' and the closing work, 'La bernarda y su casa'.
Also participating in the contest were the Youth Band of the Santa Cecilia Musical Artistic Society, the Lola Sornichero Spanish Flamenco Company, the Antavian Company with its version of the zarzuela 'El otro duo de la Africana' and the School of Dramatic Art Murcia.
