The fourth edition of the National Contest of Saetas de Cartagena already has a winner, the singer Juan Francisco Berrocal, who took the first position, after acting before the image of the Virgin of Mercy in the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia and before Thousand people.

In addition, by taking the contest, the Cadiz has also received an economic grant of 2,000 euros and a sculpture created by the cartagenero Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta.

For its part, the winner of the previous edition, Ana Garcia Caro, who was present, passed the symbolic witness.

The caciereña Miriam Cantero and the Huelva Manuela Pérez obtained the second and third prize, respectively, with a endowment of 1,000 and 700 euros.

The other two finalists, Isabel Fatima Guerrero from Malaga and Montserrat Pérez from Almería, despite not being able to sneak among the three best saeteros of this edition, had the opportunity to demonstrate their talent and fervor with their performance before the sculpture of the Virgen de la Piedad, by José Capuz, after passing the semifinals held in the House of Folklore of La Palma.

The finalists performed in two rounds under the watchful eye of the jury, made up of different experts from the world of flamenco, and presented by journalist Miguel Meroño.

The National Contest of Saetas de Cartagena has the collaboration of the City Council of Cartagena, the Regional Ministry of Culture of the Region of Murcia, the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), the Folk Group of La Palma and the Groupings of Our Father Jesus Nazareno, Of the Virgin of the Piety, of Portapasos of the Virgin Dolorosa and of the Verónica and Santa Faz.
