On December 29, the IV Extraordinary Concert of Between Strings and Metals was held in the Auditorium of El Batel.
A concert that brought together an extraordinary group of musicians, selected among the winners of the 20 competitions and musicians who have stood out for their professional career.
An event that filled the Auditorium and that can now enjoy all those who want it through the channel of the City of Cartagena on Youtube.
The Youth Department and the Cartagena Music Conservatory, together with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, organized this concert that brought together fifty musicians on stage.
At the head of the Orchestra was the Cartagena-born director of international stature, Pedro Beriso, who combines the Orchestra Direction with his activity as a pianist and countertenor, and was awarded in the Competition between Strings and Metals in the VII edition 2004 in the modality of Piano, among many other achievements in his career.
The spectators were able to enjoy in addition to the performance as a soloist of the cartagenera Paola Requena Toulouse (I prize of the V Edition of the Competition Between Strings and Metals in the year 2001), whose trajectory has placed it as one of the best guitarists and of greater projection Of his generation, and that delighted us interpreting the Concert of Aranjuez of Joaquin Rodrigo.
The program was completed with the premiere of the play 'Overture' by composer Mateo Soto in the first part, putting the finishing touch this unique orchestral formation that met to celebrate our twentieth anniversary by performing one of the most well known symphonic works of music Classical: the Fifth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven.
