In the world of comics there has been an important group of cartoonists and writers, men and women, who have contributed to the spread of comic strips for girls.

Some of these strips have appeared in the shade of good editions and have contributed to its expansion.

What can be verified is that there were editions with great acceptance among the female audience and also in some other man between curious and amateur.

The era of greater boom was between the years 50 and 70, when appeared more varieties of collections and publishers.

Editions such as 'Mis Chicas', 'Azucena', 'Florita', 'Claro de Luna', 'MaryNews' and 'Sissi', to name a few of the ones present, caused real impact among readers and readers, Of these headers to exceed 1000 different titles and, within them, to achieve large runs of the same number.

José Martínez Lizandra is a neighbor of Cartagena and has professionally dedicated his life to the Merchant Navy as an employee of a petrochemical company.

Now retired, he can devote more time to one of his passions, such as his fondness for collecting 'comics'.

This exhibition is a result of the compilation task that has been developing for decades and joins with others made since 18 years.

The samples in the Palace of the Diputación de Tarragona in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003 or in 2000 in the Real Club Nautico de Tarragona stand out.
