The Consistory sticks 150 informative vinyls in containers of the city (24/02/2017)

The City of Cartagena is placing 150 vinyl information stickers in different green containers that are next to recycled containers.

The message they contain is intended to remind citizens that the green container is used for organic matter and debris, while all plastics, cans and bricks should go to the yellow container.

The action is part of the promotion and recycling campaign carried out by Ecoembes in collaboration with the City of Cartagena.

With the slogan "Why do not you recycle?" And the message "Recycling is a necessity. You have an amariil container very close to you. The City has put the means, put the plastic containers, the cans and the bricks", The Consistory wants to encourage citizens to collaborate in the work of keeping the city clean and to recycle responsibly.

It should be recalled that in Cartagena there are 1,367 yellow containers, one container per 158 inhabitants, while Ecoembes requires a minimum of 1 container per 480 inhabitants in a semi-urban area and 1 container per 330 inhabitants in a rural area.

OVER 2700 ECOFORMER VISITS

On the other hand, the team of people in charge of informing the citizens of the importance of recycling, ecoinformadores, have practically completed the visits that they had planned during the month of February.

Since last 6th of this month more than 2700 homes have been visited in the neighborhoods of Santa Lucía, José María de la Puerta and Virgen de la Caridad.

In each of the visits, in addition to informing, they have delivered a yellow bag to facilitate the recycling of plastics and packaging.

This initiative aims to remember the importance of recycling, and to respond to one of the most common excuses not to recycle, which is not having a specific cube at home or space.

The bags that have been delivered are stiff enough to stand.

The eco-formers will finish their visits in the district of San Antón and district Peral, where they will be until the 28 of February.
