The cantaores Juan Francisco Berrocal, Miriam Cantero, Isabel Fatima Guerrero, Manuela Pérez and Montserrat Pérez have been chosen finalists of the National Contest of Saetas of Cartagena 2017, that will take place the next 25 of March in the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia of Cartagena.

The contest is organized by the Association of Portapasos de la Piedad and the Marraja Brotherhood, with the collaboration of the City Council of Cartagena, the Ministry of Culture, the Folklore Group 'Ciudad de Cartagena', the UCAM and the Our Father Jesus Nazareno Group , As well as the groupings of Virgen de la Piedad, Portapasos de la Dolorosa and Verónica.

After the celebration of the semi-finals a few days ago, the jury decided that among the 16 participants of this edition of the competition, the five singers from Cadiz, Cáceres, Malaga, Huelva and Almeria, respectively.

The winner of the contest will receive a prize consisting of an economic endowment and an original sculpture, created for the occasion by the Carthaginian sculptor Fernando Sáenz Elorrieta.
