Quality of Life knows the work of the association Hands that heal the Earth (15/02/2017)

The Councilor for the area of ​​Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, met this morning in the Administrative Building of San Miguel, with representatives of the association Manos that heal the Earth.

During the meeting, the members of the entity have presented to the mayor the various tasks they carry out, among which are the dissemination of the relationship between human and environmental health, as well as the support and implementation of actions to Care, improvement and respectful use of the natural environment in order to improve air quality.

For his part, the mayor has shown his interest in knowing the work of the association, which has invited to join the Air Quality Table of the City of Cartagena, which is chaired by Calderón himself and whose main objective is to know The different points of view of the entities that make up this working forum to determine how the local government can have greater control over air quality.

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY DAY

The meeting also served to present to Francisco Calderón the proposal of organization in Cartagena of the first day 'Health and Environment in the Field of Cartagena'.

The same, would be held on April 27 or 29, and would be coordinated by the Association Hands Healing Earth and City Council, with the cooperation of other entities such as CreeCT or Neighborhood Associations of different populations.

This scientific and informative day would aim to inform the general public about the situation of environmental quality in the municipality, "fleeing alarmism and with clear and precise information," according to the representatives of the entity told Calderón.

FOR THE PROTECTION OF HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

The Manos Curing the Earth Association is a non-profit organization based in the Campo de Cartagena and formed by people from different populations such as La Aljorra, Pozo Estrecho or Los Alcázares.

Its main dedication is the protection of health and the environment, keeping society informed about the intrinsic relationship between both factors.

Likewise, the organization tries to reach out to the leaders of their concerns, proposing solutions and alternatives.
