The Commission of Investigation of the school of the Aljorra will examine the relation maintained between the City council and the companies involved in the operation (14/02/2017)

The Administrative Building of San Miguel this morning hosted the second meeting of the Commission of Inquiry under the chairmanship of the Councilor for the Quality of Life area, Francisco Calderón, who, under the terms of the plenary, is studying the circumstances surrounding the acquisition in 2010, for Part of the Town Hall, of the land destined to the construction of the new school of the Aljorra.

During this meeting, the Commission has determined to divide its lines of action under three objectives.

Firstly, in order to access the registration information of the property acquired in La Aljorra that discloses the data relating to the situation of the property prior to said acquisition, nature, owners, previous operations, etc.

Likewise, the working group has required the study of the contracts and the relationship maintained by the Consistory and the companies involved in the acquisition of the land.

It is considered necessary to know the synergies established, if any, between the City Council and the companies that took part in this operation.

Finally, the Commission has agreed to request from the Departments of Education and Infrastructures the information that includes the history of actions, measures or opinions originating from the acquisition of the land for the future construction of the school of La Aljorra.

This initiative seeks to find the reasons, for example, that have resulted in a change of criteria about the possibility of being able to build the educational facility in the said farm.

The Commission will meet again in the near future, once the information requested has been collected, to further advance the objectives of the working group.

The Commission, which includes representatives of all municipal groups, was formed last February 1 and is the result of a plenary agreement, adopted on September 29, 2016, with the votes in favor of MC, PSOE, C `S and Cartagena Yes It Can, and the only vote against the Popular Party, being the motion presented by the spokesman of the Municipal Group MC, Francisco Calderón.

The Commission will be responsible for clarifying the cost of the acquisition, previous owners of the plot, previous feasibility studies, etc.

It should be recalled that the land acquired, which is the subject of this Commission, has been considered unfit by the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura and the Ministry for the implementation of an educational center there to meet the educational needs existing in this town of Campo de Cartagena.

For this reason, the Commission seeks to reveal the reasons that led the previous local government to make such an acquisition
