The mayor appeals to the loyalty among institutions to meet the educational needs of the municipality (09/02/2017)

The mayor of Cartagena, José López, said this morning about the availability of the Ministry of Education of new land for the construction of the school in La Aljorra, that from the City Council "we are finishing preparing everything necessary;

The agreement with the owners is already and we believe that imminently we will be able to advance in this process ".

Regarding the delay in the replacement of the cover of the Polytechnic Institute, as delayed the sending justification of the technical direction by the Ministry since last November 21, the first mayor has expressed his understanding before this fact because "that the Ministry Of Education has 45 municipalities to work on them and it is normal that sometimes these situations occur.

It is worth mentioning that on yesterday the City of Cartagena issued the municipal license for the start of work.

On the extension of the land of the Integrated Center for Vocational Training 'Hésperides', the Ministry sent the Town Hall request for land, starting yesterday local administration the start of the file for this purpose.

It is foreseen that, as López has stated, "the transfer of these lands is reflected in a document."

III WEEK OF SCIENCE IN THE COLLEGE 'THE IMMACULATE

The mayor visited this morning the facilities of the 'La Inmaculada' School, where, accompanied by the center's director and the Minister of Education, María Isabel Sánchez-Mora, he learned about the activities being carried out on the occasion of the Third Week of The science.

The College 'La Inmaculada' has joined, for the third consecutive year, the celebration in Spain of Science and Technology Week, organizing the III Science Week, an initiative that began last Monday and will end tomorrow.

The days have been articulated around the same theme 'Mother Earth', considering all aspects (economic, social, artistic, geographical, linguistic, literary, musical, religious, chemical, physical, etc.)

The program of activities designed by the educational institution has understood all the school stages, encouraging the participation of the 1,200 students who receive classes, in order to bring and involve the greater number of members of the educational community.

López has valued the accomplishment of this scientific proposal pondering, first, the role played by a school "very ingrained in Cartagena, one of the fundamental quarries of the Polytechnic University".

The first mayor thanked "the effort of the teachers and all the teaching staff of the College to focus and open the eyes to the students, helping them to decide what they want to be and how they want to be."
