The students of the Intercultural Centers receive the writer Monica Rodriguez (06/02/2017)

The young people of the Intercultural Centers of Dolores and Casco Antiguo, who depend on the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, received last week the writer Mónica Rodríguez, within the program to promote the reading of the Mandarache Prize, specifically The 'Hache category'.

The members of these centers have formed diverse committees to carry out the reading of the books participating in the contest and comment them.

Under the title 'Leevolucionar', this edition of 2017 has begun with the writer Mónica Rodríguez and the reading of his book 'The orange tree that died of sadness'.

Thirty-five young people attended the meeting held with her on Tuesday, January 31, which also included the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín del Amor, and presented the writer.

"These initiatives are very positive because they involve young people and promote the habit of reading, which is fundamental," said the mayor.

The young people asked the author about aspects such as love or vital expectations within her work, to which she responded, showing their satisfaction for the great work being carried out by the Intercultural Centers.

At the end of the event, Mónica Rodríguez signed autographs to the assistants, with whom she was also photographed.
