A total of 300 children have participated this Thursday in the municipal phase of the category Alevín of the activity 'Playing Athletics', which is developed within the Program of Physical Activity and Sport in School Age organized by the Department of Sports City Council Of Cartagena in collaboration with the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia.
In addition, the day has been attended by the mayor of Sports, Ricardo Segado.
In this edition have participated up to thirty schools of the municipality - two more that in 2016.
The schools that have come together in this edition, with teams in men and women, are Virgen de Begoña, Hispania, La Asomada, San Antonio Abad, La Vaguada, San Cristóbal, San Isidro, San Fulgencio, San Isidoro, Narval, Virgen del Carmen, La Concepcion, La Encarnación, Azorín, Santa Maria Micaela, San Juan Bosco, Fernando Garrido, Vicente Ros, Sagrada Familia, Feliciano Sánchez, Garden City, Stella Maris, Santa Florentina, Leonardo da Vinci, Santiago Apostle, San Francisco Javier, Poet Antonio Oliver, Luis Calandre and Miralmonte.
The Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Club Athletics Elcano and the Club Athletics Cartagena have coordinated a device made up of technicians of the Department of Sports, judges athletics, volunteers TAFAD IES Mediterranean And buses for the displacement of participants and teachers.
The tests carried out in the Municipal Sports Pavilion have consisted of a 10x10 race, jump to the jump, triple jump from stopped, throwing of seated ball, launch of a soft javelin and relays 5x1 and 5x2 ('grand prix').
