The UPCT rewards its reference teachers in the European Higher Education Area (25/01/2017)

The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) recognizes this Friday in the act of Santo Tomás de Aquino to seven of its teachers with the figure of professor of reference in the European space of superior education.

This year, Isabel Olmedo Cifuentes, Mª Mar Andreu Martí, José Víctor Rodríguez Rodríguez, Julián Francisco Conesa Pastor, Eva Tomaseti Solano, Antonio Tomás Espín and Laura Martínez Caro have been honored for their commitment to quality in university teaching.

The teacher recognition "benchmark" evaluates different aspects of the teaching activity among which are the satisfaction surveys carried out by students, participation in UPCT teaching innovation projects, creation of teaching materials such as videos, Interactive materials or open materials, participation in training courses and conferences on teacher innovation, the elaboration of articles on this subject or participation in the management and coordination of titles.

The award-winning teachers have obtained excellent evaluations in all these areas mentioned.

Thus, Professor Isabel Olmedo Cifuentes has been outstanding for her commitment to bilingual education in the Faculty of Business Sciences, having participated in teaching groups created to support English teaching in the degree of Business Administration and Management.

In addition, he has participated in the organization of a congress for the promotion of bilingual education and the support to the teaching staff that begins in this experience, has presented papers in teaching conferences and has several publications and articles on this subject.

Maria del Mar Andreu Martí, from the Faculty of Business Sciences, has numerous teaching materials published for students in the area of ​​Commercial Law.

He has participated in teaching teams that seek to improve the quality of UPCT qualifications, the assessment of competencies or the correct development of teaching guides.

In addition, he has actively participated in the elaboration of the reports of verification of the degree of Tourism of the UPCT and in the University Master's on-line in Direction of Entities of Social Economy.

Professor José Víctor Rodríguez Rodríguez, from the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT), stands out for his commitment to the development of his school curricula, the follow-up reports on the titles, coordination and follow-up of the plans study.

On the other hand, it shows a clear vocation disseminating scientific culture to society through participation in workshops, seminars and workshops developed at the UPCT Engineering Campus, within the UPCT Bloopbusters project or at the Week of Science and Technology Technology.

Julián Francisco Conesa Pastor, from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII), is a teacher who has stood out for his participation in innovation projects to quantify the student workload and the evaluation of the competences of the titles.

He has also presented several papers at conferences of teaching innovation on self-regulated learning or tools to improve vertical coordination of degrees.

On the other hand, teacher Eva Tomaseti Solano, from the Faculty of Business Sciences, has participated in teaching teams of diverse topics such as the development of learning materials for English subjects, the seven competencies of the UPCT or The design of courses and on-line training activities.

It also has publications that examine the experience of bilingual education in the degree of Business Administration and Management and case studies that deal with financial decisions in families and quality management in companies, among others.

Antonio Tomás Espín, professor of the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, has numerous teaching materials developed at Polimedia through the UPCT's Digital Productions Center, as well as open publications through Of the OCW portal.

In addition, he has been evaluator of the ANECA within the program ACREDITA and has participated in different teaching teams of the UPCT.

Finally, Laura Martínez Caro, a professor at the Faculty of Business Sciences, stands out for her commitment in the preparation of the accreditation and verification reports of the titles offered in her Faculty as a Graduate in Tourism, a Master's in Management and Business Management And Tourism Institutions, Master in Business Administration and Management (MBA) and Degree in Business Administration and Management.

He has also participated in projects of educational innovation of different themes.
