The City Council cedes the land to build a functional home for people with Down Syndrome (04/01/2017)

The consistory will hand over municipal land to the association ASIDO for the construction of a functional home for people with down syndrome.

The agreement reached this morning the Government Team of the consistory, represented by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, and the president of the association, Juan Carrasco.

Carrasco has described the meeting as "excellent", in which the consistory "has made a firm commitment to cede the land" with the idea of ​​building a complex for people with down syndrome in which they can learn to live independently and count With common facilities and attention.

The mayor explained that the land is yet to materialize at the expense of the approval of the General Urban Planning Plan, but that in any case "there will always be a plot for ASIDO and for the organizations that have to build this type of Residences ".

Lopez has stressed that "the local administration will always be responding as quickly as possible to the needs of these organizations that often come to meet the needs and commitments that management would have to assume for them."
