San Anton program more than ten days of acts in honor of the patron protector of animals On Friday, January 6, the acts of the parties of San Antón begin with the proclamation that will be run this year by the councilor of transparency Mª José Sóler (04/01/2017)

With the Gran Baile de Roscón de Reyes, the fiestas of the neighborhood of San Antón 2017 will start next Friday, January 6, some of the most beautiful in our city, which will be announced this year by the Councilor for Transparency, Mª José Soler.

More than ten days of events, organized by the association of neighbors of the neighborhood, with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, in which music, dancing and especially the octopus will be the indispensable condiment to honor the holy protector of animals .

Although it is a festival that lives mainly in the street, it also offers a wide range of activities of all kinds to extend the range of activities, from sports to table games, crafts and theater workshops, films, Horse rides and dance competitions.

The second weekend will be held the most outstanding events.

On Saturday the 14th, at 10 o'clock, horses and carriages will descend accompanied the Saint in the traditional pilgrimage that will leave from the Chapel of the Cemetery to the sound of the band of horns and drums.

That same day at 14 hours in the Plaza de la Purisima will be a large paella popular with music and dance and at 19 hours is expected the entry of the patron and the celebration of Holy Mass.

On Sunday 15 from the Plaza de Juana la Loca will leave an urban route that will return to the same point where a giant paella will be held with games, raffles and more surprises.

The big day will be on Tuesday 17, which will start with the Diana Floreada sponsored by the Department of Festejos of the municipal council of Cartagena.

After the mass, after noon, the traditional blessing of the animals will begin, followed by the usual vermouth dance, at noon, and the procession of the saint, in the afternoon, to finish that night with dancing and a great End traca.

However, the activities in the program will not end until Saturday, January 21, with the X Meeting of Bolillo de San Antón, organized by the Association of Bolt Fittings of San Antón.
