The Community has formalized today the acquisition of the Great Central Cinema of Cartagena, a building built in 1880 that will become a cultural space.

To carry out the initial work of adaptation, the regional government will allocate 200,000 euros in the budgets of 2017.

The purchase, made by auction on December 7, was closed today by the Minister of Culture and government spokesman, Noelia Arroyo, and the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, who received the keys to the property and advanced that "The first technical inspections of the building to guarantee the safety will be imminent and, thus, to be able to begin to work on the project".

Arroyo stated that in the budgets of 2017, the investments planned in Cartagena include 200,000 euros "which will allow us to start as soon as possible the works that will turn this emblematic building into a cultural space of the first order, open to all citizens and a referent Artistic in the Region of Murcia ".
