The mayor denounces that, one year later, regional budgets insist on mistreatment of Cartagena (15/12/2016)

COMMUNICATION OF THE MAYOR

Just a month ago, the mayor of Cartagena, Jose López, sent a letter to the Minister of Finance, Andrés Carrillo, arguing in writing the list of priority projects for the future development of the municipality that require funding from the regional administration to become a reality And, in this way, to advance the progress of Cartagena.

Among them, issues related to key infrastructures such as access to the West;

Works to avoid floods or concerning accessibility and mobility.

López followed this procedure at the request of the director wishing the beginning of a closer, just and solidary relationship.

The answer to this letter of the Minister Carrillo arrived on December 12, a few days of knowing that the project of regional budgets again supposes to reiterate the already habitual contempt and absolute abandonment to the necessities of Cartagena and Cartagena by the Government of the CARM.

In the aforementioned communication of three extension sheets, Carrillo, before the request of the necessary investments of López for the municipality, shows the mayor that "Cartagena has the most modern public hospital of Spain", obviating, however, that the Health benefits of the Santa Lucía hospital center go beyond the municipal level and also have as beneficiaries neighbors of other municipalities and, on the other hand, forgetting the very serious deficiencies of Cartagena in sanitary matters as the refusal to comply with the law emanated from the Regional Assembly that Calls for the full operation of the Rosell, an insistent policy of abandonment that has deserved the rejection of civil society, represented by citizen platforms, professionals and municipal government.

Again, Carrillo shows the mayor that in Education "Cartagena has public infrastructures and resources widely developed at all levels," stating that it could be challenged without great difficulty from La Aljorra.

The counselor says goodbye for not being "able to meet", which shows the very tight agenda that Carrillo suffers, given the impossibility of maintaining a meeting with the person who heads the Government of the second city in number of inhabitants of CARM and Authentic industrial and tourist motor of the regional economy.

In this context, the mayor of Cartagena, José López, regretted that, once again, regional budgets "do not meet the needs of Cartagena, forgetting, as is customary, historical needs for the municipality as the demanded plan for neighborhoods and Deputations;

Measures against pollution in the municipality or improvement of infrastructure ".

López has also denounced that the autonomous government maintains "a discretionary criterion that hurts another year Cartagena and its inhabitants."

The first mayor has shown that the only investments planned for Cartagena are "to expand the seat of the regional government usurped to the Regional Museum of Modern Art (MURAM);

A small amount for the House of the Child, that yes, without returning the Historic Photo Center of the Region (CEHIFORM) to Cartagena, and another still lower to reform the Central Cinema, which shows that only acquired a project.

José López has invited opposition groups in the Regional Assembly "to demonstrate their commitment to Cartagena or to be accomplices to unjust budgets," noting that "the regional executive has demonstrated that he knows and acknowledges abuse, but he has not wanted Put a brake on it or offer solutions, "and added," he has done avoiding giving face, because he did not fulfill his word of meeting, just reply with an empty letter of content on the 12th. "

In another order, the mayor said that "it is especially striking that for the project of the ZAL in Cartagena are allocated only 50,000 euros and that the recovery of the Amphitheater (100,000 euros) has the same heading as the reforms of headquarters Of the regional government in the MURAM ".

In the same way, he explained "predominates indetermination in the games for the Mar Menor;

The Rosell Law is still not complied with and the improper competitions that the City Council has taken care of ".

Finally, López has concluded by denouncing that, once again, regional budgets prolong the systematic mistreatment of Cartagena, revealing that political acronyms have more than institutional loyalty for the regional government that should prevail for the benefit of the general interest , The progress and welfare of citizenship.
