A new demonstration will ask the administration to solve the deterioration of the Mar Menor (14/12/2016)

Different social groups in the region will participate next year, on dates close to Holy Week, in a new protest to ask the administration for a solution to the deterioration of the Mar Menor.

On Tuesday afternoon, November 13, a meeting of the Federation of Associations of Neighbors, Users and Consumers of Cartagena and Region (FAVCAC), moderated from the federation by Cristina Roca and Ángel Monedero, and the president of ANSE, Pedro Garcia, with the presence of the mayor, José López, with the aim of treating the situation of the Mar Menor.

The event was also attended by political representatives of other municipalities in the region.

At the meeting, which was attended by some twenty groups, from associations of women and neighbors and associations of merchants and innkeepers, showed through images and videos the reality of the salt lagoon and the deterioration that has suffered in the two Years, and measures were assessed to be carried out.

After the projection, it was agreed to hold a demonstration around Holy Week, asking the administrations for a solution and measures against the deterioration of the Mar Menor, as a problem that affects not only the environment, but also the economy and the environment. Tourism, and that can mean the loss of jobs, especially in the fishing sector, as stated by the president of the Federation of Associations, Cristina Roca.

The demonstration will take place through the streets of Cartagena and from the FAVCAC have appealed to citizens to join this protest in favor of a solution for the lagoon salad,
