The Muram of Cartagena closes the exhibition'Con Genio' with a children's workshop and a meeting with the 25 participating photographers (09/11/2016)

The Regional Museum of Modern Art will also host this Friday fashion show #CartagenArte, with textiles drawn by several creators of the Region

The Regional Museum of Modern Art of Cartagena (Muram) closes this weekend the exhibition 'Con Genio' with a workshop and a meeting open to the public.

The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Portavocía, in collaboration with the City Council of Mazarrón and the Catholic University of San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), brings together the final projects of the Master's degree in Technical Photography and UCAM-Fotogenio expression.

On Saturday, November 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the workshop 'Children's Photography' will be held at the Muram.

Background and perspectives', given by the photographers Juana María Calín and María Alcolea.

This is one of the parallel activities to the exhibition through which the participants have passed since the opening and adds to the conferences, round tables and guided tours already organized.

In the afternoon (18:00 hours) there will be a meeting with the 25 photographers who will present: María Alcolea Rosa, Cristina Alonso López, Juana María Calín, Pepa Cobo, Antonio Luis del Amor, Servando García de la Rubia, Mónica Gómez Izquierdo, Francisco José Jiménez Valverde, Germán Lama, Pedro José López, Pedro José Madrid Parra, José Antonio Martínez Morales, Luis Marino, Pascual Méndez, Montse Moreno Serrano, Sonia Muñoz Ortuño, Mariano Pelegrín Rosa, Eva María Romera Martínez, Abel F. Ros, José A. Rosa, Pablo Sánchez del Valle, María Dolores Sánchez Meca, Irene Soriano Moreno, Luis Miguel Vivas and Raquel Zapata Pizarro.

Each creator presented for the project a work of 40 x 60 cm.

Of an artist's book, in which the project is recorded with a score of images and can also be seen in the sample.

"This exhibition is an opportunity for the visitor to enjoy various thematic proposals, both by authors with a wide experience and by young photographers, artists from different municipalities in the Region and other communities who explore with their work the new paths that are Open within contemporary photography, "explained the director general of Cultural Property, Maria Comas.

Fashion show

On the other hand, with the aim of "making the Regional Museum of Modern Art of Cartagena a place open to all society and where many activities related to art can be held", the director general recalled that this Friday, Starting at 20:00 hours, an original fashion show will take place on the first floor of the annex building.

The #CartagenArte initiative is an activity promoted by 'Diaz Bautista Culture' which seeks to pay homage to the painter and writer Murcia on the third anniversary of his death.

The act, similar to the one celebrated a few months ago in the Real Casino of Murcia, will consist of a fashion show in which several of the clothes that will be shown have been drawn by several artists of the Region.

In particular, José María Puebla, Pedro Diego Pérez Casanova, Marcos Amorós, Cristóbal Pérez, Álvaro Peña, Fernando Sáenz de Elorrieta, Alfonso Pérez Parra, Inma Escudero, Santi García, Rosa Marín and Carlos Montero participate in this initiative.

The complements have been made, among other creators, by Piedad Martínez Torres and Sáenz de Elorrieta.

Díaz Bautista was Professor of Roman Law at the University of Murcia, painter, writer and musicologist.

In addition, he presided over the Promusica Association of Murcia for years.

Son of a Cartagena father and mother Murcia, collected in their articles the traditions and landscapes of the Region and stood out in the defense of the Murcian heritage and culture.
