The ADLE APICES contributes to promote inclusive tourism (30/09/2016)

The Agency for Local Development and Employment (ALDE), collaborates with the Association for Community Integration of Mentally Ill of Cartagena and Shire (APICES) in the European project Friendly Beach, with the aim of promoting inclusive tourism aimed at the participation of people with intellectual or mental disabilities and their families.

APICES and ADLE be responsible for project implementation and validation of innovative methodology in companies in the tourism and leisure sector of the town you want to participate in the project as well as training to tourism businesses and other entities of this methodology care and service to people with mental disabilities and their families, which can be a great opportunity for tourism and leisure.

As of October 2016 it will start a publicity campaign aimed at attracting and key agencies and tour operators in the municipality.

Subsequently they carried out actions prior to the implementation of model training, enabling proper care of this group.

The expected result will have a double benefit, firstly increase and improve marketing and quality of tourism and leisure Cartagena and another meet the social integration of this group and their companions with a standardized use of services and resources of the municipality.

The president of the ADLE, Ana Belén Castejon, said that this project is very important for the region because we promote inclusive tourism.

The right to leisure is essential and we will do everything in our power to make it a reality.

The European project FRIENDLY BEACH has recently been approved by the Executive Agency for small and medium enterprises (EASME) of the European Commission through the COSME 2015 call for support competitive and sustainable growth in the tourism sector.

This project aims to promote inclusive tourism directed the participation of people with intellectual disabilities and / or mental illness and their families in beach areas, developing an innovative model for the tourism industry that can be replicable and transferable to tour operators, hoteliers, travel agencies, companies nautical, sports and leisure and other companies or entities that affect the tourism value chain.

The project objective is the family group where one of its members possess a mental disability, considering family needs as a ¿todo¿ and raising awareness of how to cover the sector and to respond to these needs in innovative ways.

The idea of ​​this project is based on the experience developed in the Rimini Autism (Italy) project, in which tourism enterprises were trained on how to respond to people with autism, facilitating social integration and holiday stay whole family and contributing to job creation of this group. Friendly Beach has 10 partners from 4 countries, five from Italy, two from Britain, two from Spain and one from Croatia, with the Italian leader.

The project lasts 24 months and has a budget of 165,628.30 euros of which 75%, 124,221.75 euros are subsidized by the COSME project.

On September 7 took place in Rimini-Italy meeting launching the project, in which I participate ADLE and were watching the work plan of the project and contractual and financial obligations thereof, as well as the testimony of experience Autism project in Rimini.
