The City Council and the Port Authority advance in control proposals air quality (27/09/2016)

The area councilor Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, accompanied by the manager of the municipal company Old Town, Antonio Garcia, held this morning, September 27, a working meeting with the president of the Port Authority of Cartagena, Antonio Sevilla .

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the public body, the representative of the local government has sent Sevilla a proposal for collaboration to unite both administrations around a target focused on the branch of aerobiología: study control of airborne particles related to the movement of containers and live animals in the tailings basin and the resulting cruise traffic in the port of Cartagena.

This collaboration is articulated through the research group Aerobiología and environmental toxicology in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering Polytechnic laUniversidad of Cartagena (UPCT) led by Stella Moreno.

The proposal has been received by Sevilla with receptivity, being emplaced both parties for an upcoming meeting to be held within approximately two weeks.

At that event, they would end up being outlined in more detail the channels of collaboration between institutions in the area of ​​control of air quality.
