Researchers at the School of Agronomic UPCT working to prevent the extinction of chamomile tailings since 2012. The specialists have managed to introduce on the coast of Cartagena two new populations of chamomile tailings, one in Bolete Big Creek and another in Algameca girl and the reintroduction of the population had disappeared late last century in the Punta de Aguilones in the continental tailings.
This has been possible thanks to the project have been conducted in the past year the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), the Port of Cartagena and the Biodiversity Foundation to protect this species.
Last year became 2016 the plant garbancillo Tallante, species for which researchers agronomists have worked in a European project to prevent its disappearance.
