Military Arsenal Cartagena held on Saturday July 16 the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patroness of the Navy.

Officers, NCOs, soldiers sailors and Marines participated in various events that honored the patron of the Sea, where they were Be mindful sailors who gave their lives for Spain.

Chaired by the Chief Military Arsenal Cartagena Admiral, Vice Admiral Gamboa Marcial Pérez-Pardo, and the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, and the president of the Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, the government delegate, Antonio Sanchez- Solis, and representatives of marine fishing, merchant and sports, various events that began with a Mass in honor of the Virgen del Carmen followed.

Then, there was a tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain and died in the sea of ​​the merchant marine, fishing, scientific and recreational.

Then he was held a ceremony of imposition of decorations and tribute to the staff of the Navy who recently moved to reserve status.

In celebration, twenty officers, NCOs, soldiers, sailors and Marines were crosses the Naval Merit with white and bronze consistency in service.

They also were rewarded concondecoraciones three staff and two working employees of the Ministry of Defense.
