The Museum of Roman Theatre in Cartagena celebrates his eight years with routes and themed tours throughout the summer (11/07/2016)

The Museum of Roman Theatre in Cartagena, whose board is composed of the Autonomous Region, the City of Cartagena and the Cajamurcia Foundation today celebrates its eighth anniversary.

This space, which has become the most visited museum in the region and one of the most popular in the country, has received during this 2016 to more than 100,000 people, 15 percent more than in 2015.

Since its inauguration on July 11, 2008, they have already gone through this space more than 1.2 million people.

To continue to attract new audiences, its leaders have extended summer opening hours and increased the activity with a number of routes and tours themed, organized in collaboration with Cartagena Port of Cultures that will allow each day can perform a route or a different family activity.

The Director General of Cultural Property and member of the board of trustees of the Roman Theater, Maria Comas said that "throughout its eight years of operation, the entire team of Roman Theatre Museum has worked hard to ensure the preservation of their collections and monument and increase the number of visitors, also increasing their degree of loyalty through activities that allow each visit to this iconic space is always different. "

During the months of July and August, visitors can enjoy the temporary exhibition "Piranesi, the rediscovery of Rome ', an exhibition conceived from the special relationship between antiquity, the Roman Theatre in Cartagena exemplified, and the work of Piranesi, for its essential role in the rediscovery of Rome.

Curated by Nacho Ruiz, the exhibition allows visitors to immerse themselves in the development of techniques, from etching to the photolithography.

A block chronologically ordered to discover the decisive steps for the art of print and lithography step in the XIX.

Museum hours these months are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00.

In addition to the temporary exhibition and the museum's collection this summer they have organized special visits, for example every Tuesday, will enable an intense journey 'From Egypt to Carthago Nova'.

It is a guided tour that begins at the Roman Theatre and continues through the neighborhood of the Roman Forum and the Augusteum, which has recreated the tomb of Tutankhamen.

The route dramatized 'Indiana Jones scene' will take place on Saturdays at 12:00 hours.
