The UPCT mounted in Uganda multimedia teaching rooms (29/06/2016)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has overseen in situ this week the installation of two rooms for multimedia teaching agribusiness center in the Ugandan Gulu University.

It will be the same in a Kenyan university in the coming days.

Equipping classrooms, installation and training their teachers, held last year at the Center for Production of Digital Content (CPDC) UPCT is part of, funded by the EDULINK II program to promote European project Acadia development in Third World countries.

"The ultimate goal of this project is to reduce development cooperation food shortages by increasing productivity and marketing of local agriculture," explains the researcher UPCT Maria Dolores de Miguel.

"We have prepared a training program on the needs we have detected in these countries and whose main lines will be the new cultivation techniques to exploit their agricultural potential, logistics, marketing, management, innovation and food security," explains the professor UPCT.

"We want to teach them that they learn to create a sustainable and self-sufficient agriculture.

Today their fields are not efficient, so that young people migrate to cities and abroad.

Agriculture has just introduced irrigation and is focused on products for export, such as tea or coffee.

Their crops are of low productivity and have big problems of transport and distribution "concludes the teacher.
