Social Services analyzes the accessibility of transport in city buses Cartagena (13/06/2016)

The actions of the Municipal Plan Disability City of Cartagena that drives the Municipal Government continue to advance and proof of this is the meeting that took place last week, Wednesday, June 8, between losrepresentantes of the Department of Social Services, who runs Carmen Manrtín and the various associations working in the field of disability, with the aim of analyzing the needs and shortcomings of present accesibilidadque urban city buses and instlaciones.

Those responsible for the Municipal Plan Disability City of Cartagena convened this meeting with elobjetivo to put on the table the accessibility needs of urban buses: motorized doors wide ramps, tilt systems, call buttons;

stops: signage, access, platform height, ischiatic supports, accessible information;

as well as the bus station Cartagena: access to the lobby, to the platforms, moving inside, sales counters, adapted toilets ...

At the meeting the issue of awareness of citizenship when occupying the seats for persons with disabilities was also addressed.

It was also raised offer special discounts to users with discapacidady, while updating existing bylaw governing universal accessibility was studied.

Technicians of the Department of Infrastructure, the transport company ALSA Cartagena, and municipal groups Cartagena opposition Sí Se Puede and citizens attended the meeting which was also attended by representatives of associations of Parkinson, Multiple Sclerosis , APANDA Foundation San Pedro-Torre Nazareth, FAMDIF, ONCE, aPICES, SOI, Sodicar, Astus and shoulder to shoulder.
