A doctor by UPCT launches the 'app' MultiDub for watching movies in any language (10/06/2016)

A murciano entrepreneur, Juan Bautista Thomas Gabarrón, formed as a researcher at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), for which he holds a PhD in Telecommunications, has launched the mobile application 'MultiDub', which allows you to hear the audio of movies in all languages ​​that have been bent.

The 'app' murciana functions as the popular music application Shazam, identifying in a few seconds the film for its audio and instantly offering dubbing the user, who can listen in complete synchrony, through their mobile, while watching the film on any screen.

"This is a disruptive product.

Nobody has done anything similar so far, "explains Thomas Gabarrón.

The application, which is free, is on the market since mid-April in PlayStore and AppStore and has already been downloaded by five hundred users.

"A very good reception without having done just marketing" values ​​the entrepreneur.

The application MultiDub currently has in catalog with 90 doublings Filmax films and series Pocoyo, although recent weeks have held meetings with Fox, Sony and other producers to expand it, for what they have planned a visit to Los Angeles.

Among the languages ​​of dubbing which can already choose some as exotic as Japanese and Korean.

The 'app' is particularly suitable for those who study foreign languages ​​and its creator is already studying how to incorporate the functionality also be seen in the mobile movie subtitles, in addition to understanding the audio.

The 'teleco' UPCT application devised soon after arriving in Paris in 2013 for a postdoctoral research.

"I went to the cinema and left the room thinking how to enable you to enjoy a movie no matter where you are," she recalls explaining his intention of breaking geographical and language barriers thanks to MultiDub.

"To develop the application I was essential lessons learned about Signal Theory and Telematic pieces of teachers from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena," says Thomas Gabarrón, who on his return from France created the Peranoid startup, in which now work ten people and has participated in three international companies accelerators, this being selected from 3,000 projects by the European Commission for funding nonrefundable.
