A moped that gives light to homes (06/06/2016)

Moped to electric generator.

The technology-based project of Jesus Morales, a student of industrial engineering, has been one that has dazzled the jury technology-based awards organized by the IEEE-UPCT association.

Morales has shown how it has transformed a bicycle to work as a motorbike and also can connect to homes and surtirlas electricity for several days.

The student of the Polytechnic of Cartagena (UPCT) explains that electricity would lead to the home is "low power" but that would be powerful enough so that they could turn on the lights, the TV or the computer.

Most of the items you have used are recycled.

In fact, it reports that the batteries used are of old laptops and with the system devised can be recharged by plugging into the electric current or batteries or pedaled.

The other project that awarded the IEEE-UPCT association is the student of Mechanical Engineering, Dario Zomeño.

In this case, it has created a laptop that allows rapid programming and connection of electronic prototypes.

It notes that the idea came to him during a class.

He says, when they have to program sensors in class, they must do so in analog, whereas with this system you can teach students to program digitally and send signals to the sensors from the computer itself.

Both students a prize of 600 euros are carried each to implement their technology-based projects.

They should have them ready in September or October, as the University is committed to disseminate them both in the Campus UPCT Engineering and Science Week.

Initially, the contest technological base 9 proposals of which only 3 finalists were chosen were presented, both cited above and the idea of Christopher Javier Sanchez, PhD in Industrial Technology, who devised a test chamber of adjustable spectrum and high energy efficiency.

Its usefulness lies in use in agricultural research laboratories to study the effects of light on the seeds using LED technology, although not finally awarded outcome.

"I will continue to refine the project," says Sanchez.

The IEEE-UPCT association organizes this contest technological dissemination to encourage the development of projects among students of the University.
