The People's University Workshops celebrate the end of course show their work in an exhibition (02/06/2016)

The People's University of the City of Cartagena held on Wednesday afternoon to progress with susalumnos Area Workshops, inaugurating the exhibition that gathers the work that has been done in workshops Crafts, Clothing Textiles, Ceramics and Sculpture, shows which can be visited on the first floor of the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso Luzzy until 14 June.

The opening ceremony was attended by several dozen students and the technical team of the UP, and the Councillor for Culture, Education and Equality, David Martinez, who highlighted the role of teachers who can enhance creativity and art those attending the workshops.

Workshops dressmaking, which are taught by Isabel Ruiz, are dynamic workshops where students, ranging in age from 18 to 80 years unleash their creativity by making all kinds of garments.

In the ceramics workshop Cristina Navarro, besides the usual technical content based on levels of knowledge, this course has focused on what is considered the most exquisite and demanding the ceramic material world, porcelain, and have done taking as reference the abstraction, one of the most important artistic movements of the twentieth century, which has allowed them to explore their abilities to transcend the usual ways.

Several people in this workshop participated in the festival Much More May with the project itself I've broken a plate and during the inauguration was shown a video-summary of this activity.

Cristina Navarro, who thanked a year of hard work by students, also teaches the Sculpture Workshop of the UP.

This course has devoted its attention to the human face from an anatomical point of view, and its expressive capacity and its catalog of emotions.

For this they have approached the study of physiognomy from various angles, such as conducting direct molds of the face or disfiguring modeling.

They have also worked with materials such as papier mache, alginate or plaster of Paris sculptor.
