Memory, identity and sustainability '] | The registration period for this activity at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena is now open and the various presentations will take place from 18 to 20 July |

The Roman Theatre Museum, in collaboration with the summer courses at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has organized the course 'Cultural Landscape, memory, identity and sustainability', to be held from 18 to 20 July in the auditorium of the cartagenero museum.

The 'cultural landscapes', under the Charter of Krakow 2000, are the result and reflection of a prolonged interaction time between man, nature and the physical environment in which they develop.

In this context, the course will address the cultural landscape through various examples containing these cultural values, such as the Bay of Cartagena, where his defensive system is an example of singular importance because it characterizes areas of territory including scenic, cultural , historical and social.

Presentations by different experts will reflect on ways of protecting this heritage and conservation issues, value and public use.

Concrete examples as the study of Real Arsenal of Cartagena will be addressed, but also associative cultural landscapes as Eagles and especially Baelo Claudia (Bologna), where there has been a master plan in this regard.

Moreover, other aspects such as awareness, analysis and methodologies for the proper development of studies of cultural landscape, which include the geographical demarcation, identification of all components and developing sustainable strategies for recovery for cultural purposes will be addressed, tourism and education.

The Director General of Cultural Property and member of the board of trustees of the Roman Theater (consisting of the Community, City Hall and the Cajamurcia Foundation) stated that "the Museum of the Roman Theater is a living space and open to participation that has become a emblem for the region, providing an ever increasing number of visitors. "

Therefore, he added, "it is the indicated place to discuss the cultural landscape and will host this course UPCT will be complemented by the exhibition 'Cultural Landscape, natural landscape' by José Carlos Sanz Belloso '" .

The course 'Cultural Landscape, memory, identity and sustainability' will take place from 18 to 20 July in morning and afternoon and will last DE25 horaslectivas.

Students get credits with attendance (2.5 LRU-1 ECTS).
