The Sea of ​​Music will deliver its special prize to Cheikh LÃ' XXII edition (06/05/2016)

The Festival the Sea of ​​Music to be held from 15 to 23 July in Cartagena, announces that the especialLa Mar Prize Music in its XXII edition will for the singer and composer African Cheikh acting under the festival on Monday 18 July at the Auditorium the Batel of Cartagena.

Cheikh

It is one of the great rebels of African music.

Excellent singer and composer as well as a distinguished guitarist, percussionist and drummer, has created his personal vision of variety of influences from West and Central Africa, resulting in a unique style.

Lô was born in Burkina Faso.

Senegalese parents, he grew up speaking Bambara (language of Mali), Wolof (language of Senegal) and French.

During the last years he retired from the international scene and plunged into the life of Dakar playing with his own band.

This homecoming is reflected in his latest album Jamm (2010 World Circuit Records).

The trademark sound of Lô is a mixture of semi-acoustic flavors, West Africa and Central Africa, Cuba, flamenco;
