For this reason, the Graphene Association has enjoyed the cooperation of the City and the UPCT to celebrate next Thursday, May 5, the day of graphene, along with a set of activities that will extend until February 9 to highlight the importance of this material.
Entitled Cartagena in the European Route of Graphene, will be held from 5 to 9 May, a program of events will include panel discussions, speeches or manifestos, and that will make the city the first in Europe to dedicate a day to the prodigious materials which has revolutionized the world of Science and Technology.
The activities will begin next Thursday Graphene Day celebration with a visit to a mural that will be located in front of the Byzantine Wall, next to the Roman Theatre, on 13.30.
At five in the afternoon start time Cartagena in the European Route of graphene, which will include the involvement of the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, the Vice Chancellor for Internationalisation and Development Cooperation UPCT, Jose Manuel Ferrandez, or Fermin Role of Port authority, a ceremony presented by President d her Graphene Association, Alberto Martin.
An hour later it will discuss the applications of graphene and marketing.
Researchers and experts in graphene, as in the case of Israel Gago, will take part in round table temaCartagena in the European Route of Graphene in Molina Palace at 19:00, ending the day with a vinoofrecido by the association for attending the conference in La Uva Jumillana and La Fuente.
The day will be May 9 Europe Day, for what will take place at 11:00 hours reading a manifesto in the Press Room of the City and flag raising.
Minutes later the mayor, Jose Lopez, will present the mural on the occasion of the celebration.
From 13:00 to 18:00 hours by the Astronomy Association of Cartagena an observation of the transit of Mercury will be held in front of the sun, which retrasnmitirá nationally for all National Astronomical Associations.
To publicize the importance of this material, will be shown from 3 to 5 May young primary and secondary school science and technology in a program organized by Campus UPCT for Engineering.
