Music and choreography on the street celebrated the feast of dance in Cartagena (02/05/2016)

Cartagena joined for the first time the worldwide celebration of International Dance Day and did it for everything big with a weekend in which both the quarry of dancers as the best city professionals danced to the rhythm of flamenco, modern, classical and Latin, among other forms of music that filled the streets.

In addition to the elaborate and prepared choreographies, hundreds of citizens were also encouraged to participate in the dance party through a flashmob that occupied the intersection Plaza Castellini with doors Murcia during the afternoon of Friday, April 29 to kick output to the program organized from the Department of Culture.

Precisely his deputy mayor, David Martinez, was one of those who did not want to miss this event and gave some dance steps from the crowd.

The event was used to read the official Manifesto of the International Dance Day, an action promoted by laUnesco that this year was the work of choreographer and director of the New Zealand-Samoan Lemi Pimofasio scene.

Besides the official day celebrating dance in the city will be extended with more activities.

On Saturday April 30, all day, various performances took place in a stage set up in the Town Hall Square of the different schools of Cartagena, with students of all ages.

microclasses classic, contemporary, lindy hop and modern for all ages are also offered.

In total, they are involving 11 schools, 29 professional and more than 200 pupils, and at night it was the turn of the actions of professionals, after reading the Manifesto of the Platform for Performing Arts Cartagena.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
