Table tennis will take center stage this week in Cartagena, hand Catholic University San Antonio UCAM, which again is organizing a major sporting event, the Championships of Spain University CEU 2016, which on Tuesday presented the Councillor for Sports, Ricardo Segado and the Director General of Sports of the UCAM, Paul Rosique.
The Municipal Pavilion Table Tennis Barrio Peral, will host on 20, 21 and 22 April, to more than 80 athletes from 16 universities across the country will compete for being champions of Spain.
In this endeavor collaborate the Department of Sports City of Cartagena, the Higher Sports Council, the Directorate General of Physical Activity and Sport, the Federation of Table Tennis Club UCAM Table Tennis and the Association of Graduates in Education Physical.
Ricardo Segado, the goal is to contribute to the promotion of university sport in the city, with events that attract not only for its sporting aspect, but also for the tourist possibilities Cartagena offers visitors with its great heritage and archaeological wealth.
The Championship will begin on Wednesday, with qualifications and meeting delegates, while the competition itself, will take place in six official tracks throughout the day on Wednesday, team, starting at 9 am, and during Thursday morning, single, ending at noon.
With a broad representation of the best universities in the country, it is expected a high level in this competition that will be the next champions of Spain, stressed Rosique.
The entrance to the Pavilion Table Tennis is free, with which the doors will be open to all those fans and other citizens who want to witness quality sport in a form of great tradition and success in the city.
