The Entrepreneurial Initiatives program enables the creation of 23 jobs in Cartagena (16/02/2016)

Among the 18 editions of the program they have generated 458 projects and created 160 new innovative companies

The Entrepreneurial Initiatives program has resulted in its latest edition the creation of 22 business plans.

Of these, half are constituted as a company, have generated an investment of 250,000 euros and have allowed the creation of 23 new jobs.

Also, start other business initiatives, the total investment would amount to 494,000 euros and 46 jobs will be created.

The program, organized by the Regional Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC) and funded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism Development and Employment, through the Institute of Development, has 18 editions and aims to put resources and support service ideas or business projects of persons with clear entrepreneurial vocation.

The Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernandez, accompanied by the president of COEC, Pedro Pablo Hernández, today concluded the 2015 This comprehensive program of counseling and training, which, he said, "accompanying the entrepreneur in all process from the embryonic state of the business plan to its final implementation. "

Juan Hernandez stressed that is "stuck to reality, practical and useful for entrepreneurs' training program.

Thus, along with advice for starting a business and the development of the business plan, the entrepreneur is offered the necessary training in business management to ensure project success.

"It's a program tailored to the needs of each entrepreneur, allowing them to focus most of the effort in matching the business idea to actual customer needs, strategic acquisition for future business and reflection and analysis of the business plan ", stated the director.

Regarding the profile of the participants, 64 percent of the entrepreneurs were employed persons, 18 percent were unemployed, 14 percent were recent graduates and five percent rushing a second entrepreneurship.

Also, 95 percent of respondents have university education and the average age is 35 years.

All selected projects present innovative solutions on the market and consistency in its business model.

Thus, there are innovative projects in the health and agri-food areas, in terms of utilization of water resources, information technology and communication and the education sector.

Throughout the 18 editions, 458 projects have arisen that have led to the creation of 160 new innovative companies, which have generated an initial investment of over 4.7 million euros and about 460 jobs.
