The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, recently held a meeting in the Palace of Aguirre of Cartagena with the older brother of the Brotherhood of Romeros of San Ginés de la Jara, Andrés García, who was invited to deliver the opening speech of the fiestas to mark the 475th anniversary of the canonization pattern Cartagena, San Ginés de la Jara, by Pope Paul III in 1541.
The opening speech will be given by the Minister Barnabas Francisco on Saturday 30th April in Cartagena.
During this week a series of cultural and commemorative events will culminate on May 7, coinciding with the day in which was recognized the sanctity of San Ginés de la Jara be held.
For commemoration will be held a procession of the new image, created by sculptor Ramon Santos Basin, which will arrive by sea to the port of Cartagena and after a tour of the old town, you come to the Basilica of Our lady of Charity, where he will be blessed.
