More aid workers in more jobs, longer hours, make up a rescue device flag beaches (21/06/2010)

The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, presented this morning on the esplanade of the Heroes of Cavite new human and technical resources with the Civil Protection which will this summer to implement the Plan and Safety Monitoring the beaches of Cartagena.

The mayor pointed out that this beach rescue service has received a Blue Flag as demonstrated extraordinary last year and this summer will be much better for several reasons.

Therefore, first highlighted Barreiro, this year we have more services contracted for a total of 31 responders, five more than last year.

In addition, the number of rescue stations, which last year was 22, is increased this year with the opening of another in the Mar Menor, the smaller islands, West.

Of these 23 positions, the eight most important geographical location extend opening hours until eight pm (closed last year at 19 hours).

This is Galúa posts, Sirens, Zeus, Entremares, Cabo de Palos, Levante Minor Outlying Islands, Mar de Cristal and San Ginés.

The mayor stressed that the position and the provision of facilities in these positions is to enhance resilience in the rest of the bathing areas.

In summary, of the 23 rescue stations: five stations will open two months of summer 15 will do for 3 months and the rest, those of San Ginés, Zeus and Galúa, will remain open during June, July, August and September.

Finally, Barreiro reported that this year there are more available ambulance Civil Protection, as the ambulances located in Minor Outlying Islands to meet the southern shore of Mar Menor, and the beaches from which Zeus intervened in the Manga, is added a third in the Azohía to respond to emergencies in the west.

THREE LEVELS

As in previous years, the device is active on three levels.
