Cartagena between September and November will host an exhibition on medieval pilgrimages and the Camino de Santiago (18/06/2010)

The Local Government of the City of Cartagena has approved in its meeting this morning the proposal of the Delegate Councillor of the area of Culture, Celebration, Women's Archaeological Heritage, Rosario Montero, for the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Foundation's Caixa, which aims to Cartagena hosting the exhibition in September was European Way.

The pilgrimage to Santiago in the Middle Ages because of the Compostela Holy Year celebrations.

Through this agreement the City will assist in the installation of the tent which will host the show on the promenade of the pier near the submarine Peral and open to the public from 17 September to 28 November.

is an exhibition describing the historical context of the great medieval pilgrimages, the story of the Apostle James, the characters which helped to consolidate the Way and the traditional attributes of the pilgrims.

Besides delving into the origins of the tradition, is staged various aspects of daily life in the heyday of the pilgrimage, in the thirteenth century.

A sample considered of particular interest given the linkage Jacobean of our city, to which the tradition set as the entry point of the Apostle to the peninsula.
