Green light for the project to reform the Playa Honda medical office (04/12/2020)

| The works will have a tender budget of 279,985.37 euros and will also include the renovation of the social premises | The local Government Board has approved this Friday the project to reform the property for the medical office and social premises of Playa Honda, with a base bidding budget of 279,985.37 euros.As explained by the deputy mayor and councilor for the area of ??Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumption, Manuel Padín, the project includes the construction of two separate functional areas on a surface of 368 square meters on the ground floor.In this way, the part destined to the medical office will have 253 square meters and will have access, lobby, administration, file / warehouse, medical and nursing consultations, treatment room, waiting rooms and toilet.Regarding the social premises, it will have access, office, multipurpose room, warehouse, distributor, cleaning and toilet trade, on an area of ??115 square meters.Now, the project will go to Contracting to start a procedure through public tender.

Once awarded, the works will last approximately five months.Padín recalled that the reform of the office and social premises responds to neighborhood demands to be able to have adequate sanitary facilities and a social gathering area.

The investment will be carried out with a multi-year expense forecast.IMPROVEMENT OF ACCESSIBILITY IN CHILDREN'S SCHOOLSThe Governing Board has also approved a budget modification amounting to 30,250 euros, aimed at improving the accessibility of nursery schools and the acquisition of sim cards for tablets that the Department of Education has made available to absentee schoolchildren.As noted, among the actions to improve accessibility to nursery schools is the construction of a ramp in Pozo Estrecho, arrangements in the courtyard of La Palma and toilets for the disabled in Los Mateos, Barrio de la Concepción and El Algar.With them, Irene Ruiz pointed out, it is a question of gradually eliminating the existing architectural barriers in some of these centers, minimizing risks and guaranteeing the safety and health of the little ones, especially those with some kind of disability.EVENTS FOR TRADEFinally and among other matters, the Governing Board has given the green light to the approval of the project of events and actions to be developed by the Commerce service during the year 2021, aimed at the promotion, revitalization and reactivation of the businesses of the municipality.

This step has been essential to accept the direct subsidy amounting to 75,000 euros, which the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community grants to the City Council to boost the sector.
