| This initiative of the ADLE includes internships in collaborating companies and reached almost 50% of labor insertion in past editions | The program 'Activation for employment', of the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE) of the City of Cartagena has already started a new edition to support job seekers in the municipality of Cartagena, with the aim of facilitating their incorporation to the labor market. Thus, the program, which has planned all its actions in compliance with health regulations to guarantee the safety of all participants, aims to accompany and guide the 12 people selected for this edition.

The technical team of the program will work with this group, motivating and facilitating the development of skills, providing tools and helping in the planning of a new insertion itinerary. This initiative of the ADLE is aimed at long-term unemployed people over 45 years of age, with family responsibilities and who find it difficult to access the labor market.

"This group is a priority objective for the Agency for Local Development and Employment, since it is a sector of the population with urgent needs to rejoin a job," stressed the Councilor for Employment and president of the ADLE, Irene Ruiz. The program will develop, until December 23, a personal development plan, job skills training and access to an internship program in a company to facilitate the activation and updating of knowledge. Thus, the Employment Activation Program incorporates, in this way, an innovative methodology with activities of different types:Self-knowledge workshop to identify strengths and skills for employment, to enhance the professional profile of each participant.Development of skills for employment and relationships in the work environment, personal and social skills, which includes working around communication skills, decision-making, assertiveness, empathy, emotional intelligence and teamwork.Training to successfully pass job interviews.Search for information and job offers online, using new technologies in the search for the job market.Risk prevention and COVID regulations in companies.Mindfulness training to deal with low moods and negative thoughts that become recurrent in this group. In October, the first phase of training began and, starting in the next few days, participants will combine their personal development plan with an internship at a company, with which they will be able to recover a work routine in a real environment and update their knowledge about specific tasks of their profession, while allowing a company to see the way they work, generating new job opportunities in the short and medium term.In addition, the councilor has valued the good results of the 2018 and 2019 editions, in which an insertion of almost 50% of the participants was achieved.

“I would like to take advantage of the beginning of this new edition to publicly acknowledge and thank the essential collaboration of the companies that have participated in the past editions in 2018 and 2019 and in the one that begins now.

Thanks to these companies and to the effort and work of the students themselves, in previous editions 44% of the participants have been inserted ”, Irene Ruiz has valued.
