About thirty unemployed people from Cartagena begin to work in the new supermarket in the Polígono de Santa Ana (13/08/2020)

The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has inaugurated this Thursday, August 13, the Masymas supermarket, located in the Santa Ana industrial estate.

The first mayor has been accompanied by the general director of the company, José Juan Fornés, and they have toured the establishment that It has a staff of 30 employees, a commercial area of ??1,400 square meters and a customer parking with capacity for 67 vehicles.In this opening in Cartagena, the new establishment maintains its commitment to fresh produce and has different sections, such as' Butchery ',' Delicatessen 'and' Fishmonger 'that are served at the counter by specialized personnel, as well as a space for' Fruits and vegetables' and 'Oven'.In addition to the usual services, the supermarket has sections 'Kitchen', in which homemade dishes are prepared daily to take away, and 'Coffee zone', set up as a rest area.On the other hand, the establishment has, as energy efficiency measures, LED lighting, freezers and cold walls with doors to avoid energy losses, energy recuperators in the ventilation system or glass façade for better use of natural light.Regarding the security measures for the Covid-19, the supermarket includes all the additional measures that the company implemented at the beginning of the pandemic, such as biological protection screens in boxes, the control of the capacity or the use by the employees of masks and gloves.The mayor has shown her gratitude and congratulations to the company "for its courage to continue with this very ambitious project in Cartagena." Thus, Ana Belén Castejón has highlighted the supermarket's commitment to energy efficiency and accessibility, in these moments of uncertainty in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic."This is establishment 128 for the company, designed with care, affection and immense work by a great team that has made this establishment a reality today that will contribute to give more life to the area," stressed the mayor, who has highlighted the importance of the project, “not only because of the impact on the local economy and the basic supply service of basic necessities, but also because of the jobs created: almost 30 direct jobs generated in Cartagena and more than 50 indirect positions ”.Selection process in the hands of the ADLEThe close collaboration between the ADLE Placement Agency and the supermarket's Human Resources department made it easier for more than a hundred unemployed people in the municipality of Cartagena to apply for one of the jobs created as a result of the opening of this new establishment.In this way, the Placement Agency provided some 120 candidates previously pre-selected from its database of job seekers with previous experience in the positions of cashier, delicatessen, butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, bakery and kitchen personnel, profiles that required the company for the opening of this new supermarket in Santa Ana.The selection process and interviews were carried out in the months of May and June at the ADLE Training Center in the La Milagrosa Building, following the safety, prevention and social distancing regulations recommended for the prevention of Covid infections.
