The president of the association, Francisco Cavas, has participated this Tuesday in the delivery.For her part, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, thanked the association from Aljorńa for their important contribution.
"This contribution will help many families who are in a vulnerable situation in our municipality and who are having a difficult time due to this health crisis," said the mayor, who noted that "the groups and associations in Cartagena have turned from the first minute with this initiative to help those most in need.
”Thus, he also underlined,“ the elderly of La Aljorra show us, once again, that they are a clear example of solidarity in our municipality ”.The social emergency device was launched after the decree of state of alarm for the crisis caused by Covid19.
Every week, he distributes food and personal hygiene products to some 400 families in Cartagena.
