Two ADE students rank the UPCT in the top 10 of the last challenge of the Ibero-American Challenge in Business Simulation (06/05/2020)

| Along with Francisco de Vitoria, the UPCT is the only Spanish university that has managed to rank | The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) stands out in the VIII Ibero-American Challenge in Business Simulation.

And it does so thanks to the work and effort of the students of the Degree in Business Administration and Management, María del Mar Fernández and Elena Cano.

The business simulation developed by both has managed to classify the UPCT in the top 10 universities in the 'Challenge of Champions' of the Ibero-American Challenge in Business Simulation. The UPCT is together with the Francisco de Vitoria University, the only Spanish university that participates in this challenge.

The young women managed to classify themselves in this category after finishing second in the Hospitality category of this challenge, in which there were 62 participants.

In this category, the young women had to simulate the business model of three hotels located in Seville, Marbella and Mallorca.

In this sense, they had to decide from which type of client they were going to focus, what activities and offers they planned to include and how the investment was going to be, among other issues.According to Fernández, they chose to focus on the public from the age of 50, with good resources, as well as on companies and on so-called business tourism of British, German, French and Spanish origin.

This business proposal was worth second place in its category and, consequently, the classification for the last challenge of the Ibero-American challenge, the so-called 'Challenge of Champions'.

Now, students must perform a different simulation based on the technology sector."Now we have to simulate the manufacture of two products, a bracelet that counts the steps and that is connected to the mobile phone and 'bright glass' glasses, this challenge is more financial," he explains, adding that the challenge begins with a parent company, whose headquarters are in Europe and a subsidiary in the United States.

At the moment they have expanded the market to China and are developing issues such as investment, device technology, etc.

He says that both are "very happy" for having managed to qualify because "it is being an experience."
