| The Department of Sustainable City and Safety implement a plan to facilitate bicycle and pedestrian traffic | The departments of Safety and Sustainable City, led by Juan Pedro Torralba and Cristina Mora, have launched a plan to facilitate pedestrian and bicycle mobility. The first phase will be launched this weekend with the closure of the old town to traffic.
Specifically, the movement of vehicles on Duque, Serreta, Campos, Jara, Aire and Cañón streets will be limited, from 11 am, “with the aim of facilitating the loading and unloading work until that time.
We want pedestrians and cyclists to have more space and this is the first step ”, highlighted the Councilor for Security, Juan Pedro Torralba.The Department of Sustainable Development is preparing another series of measures, such as the reservation of the right lane for the use of the bicycle in the main arteries of the city. "These measures will increase, as the effectiveness of the provisional measures is verified, with public bicycles, publicity campaigns and secure parking, with the aim of ensuring social distancing between the years 2020 and 2021," said Cristina Mora.
