The mural "Women who speak with flowers" reminds the victims of sexist violence (28/11/2019)

The flower is a symbol of beauty, it is unique, it is strong, like women, hence it is the protagonist of the ceramic mural 'Women who speak with flowers', carried out by the participants of one of the workshops organized by the Department of Equality and that this Thursday, November 28, has been inaugurated on the facade of the Municipal Athletics Track.

The objective is to remind women that they have been murdered victims of sexist violence, 'more than a thousand since they began to be counted in 2003', as pointed out by the Councilor for Equality, David Martínez, during the inauguration, that The 25N commemorative events program, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, is included.

The workshop teacher, Marta García, remembered the meaning of the mural, the names of the participating women represent the land, and the flowers, to all women, including the victims, 'is a tribute to all who are no longer there,' giving way to each of the participants to read a text related to each of the flowers represented in this work of art that now decorates a corner of the city,
