Because, in this version, nothing is as it seems: the Glinda Fairy is as clumsy as it is effective, the Witch of the West is quite neurotic, the worthless Lion looks like an animal version of Tony Manero, the Tin Man has Clint Eastwood complex , and the Scarecrow has the memory of a fish and the innocence of a child.
Through these characters, the story aims to humanize the magic and meet the needs of the adult audience, eternally forgotten in these types of shows, so that the whole family can enjoy a shared experience.
This mixture of modern theater with family theater is also evident in the staging, using audiovisual projections and a simple set of scenery that focuses attention on the most important: the actors.
