Prizes for students who gave a Zero rate at the University Welcome of the UPCT (20/11/2019)

The Technical Office of the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Dependencies (PMAD) organized, together with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and its Student Council, the awards ceremony for symbolic alcohol measurements that gave a Zero rate at the Welcome party University of the 2019-2020 course, which took place on October 18.

This is the second collaboration that is made with the UPCT in their university parties, incorporating on this last occasion, the slogan 'If you choose to have fun in a responsible way .... you have a prize', which is associated with a raffle with various prizes among those measurements whose rate was Zero.

The activity of 'Symbolic Measurements without alcohol' is one of the activities carried out by the Technical Office of the PMAD over 18 years of age, within its prevention actions.

The objective of this activity is to raise awareness about alcohol abuse, facilitate and improve information on the risks produced by their abuse, creating an awareness of responsible consumption in young people.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 19 at the Student House and has been delivered by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, the UPCT manager, Isidro Ibarra, and the Vice Chancellor of the Student Service, University Extension and Sports, Sergio Amat.

Mercedes García especially thanked the UPCT Student Council for their collaboration and involvement in organizing and promoting addiction prevention and risk reduction activities in their leisure and free time spaces, such as the celebrations of the University Parties.

In addition, the councilor explained that the awards ceremony is "a recognition of a very important part of the youth population that opts for a healthy lifestyle, demonstrating among other things, that it is possible to have fun in a responsible way, without need to abuse alcohol or other drugs. "

He also valued this type of healthy behavior among young people and encouraged young people present at the event to "remain a model of health and responsibility among their peers."
