The objective is to promote their participation and active involvement in the life of the neighborhood and of the municipality and contribute to the construction of this feeling of identity and fundamental belonging to the cultural enrichment and social cohesion of the neighborhoods of the municipality.

More than 20 entities, public and private institutions linked to these neighborhoods, have developed a program full of activities: information points, mattress, face painting, experiments, crafts (bookmarks, cariocas, pendants, brooches, etc.), sheet metal workshop, Violence-free photocall, technology exhibition, gardening workshop, traditional intergenerational games, “empathize with multiple sclerosis” workshop, emotion game, diversity game, healthy drinks workshop, visibility Free Cartagena of Rumors, tango show, Patroferia next to a mural of emotions.

The vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, attended the event accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, and Education, Employment and Business, Irene Ruiz.

In their tour of the different stands, they have been accompanied by different members of the government team, representatives of local political groups, responsible for Social Work "la Caixa" and by the Coordinator of the Cepaim Foundation in Cartagena, as well as representatives of other entities and collaborating institutions.

This day is part of the community process that has been promoting the Cartagena City Council, Cepaim Foundation and the “la Caixa” Social Work since 2014.

Participation in this meeting shows the progress of this intercultural Community Process in the Historic District and Station Sector.

The ICI Project, which is born from the need to face a new reality as a result of the migratory movements of our society, and which shape increasingly diverse cities, is becoming a fundamental axis of social action in the new multicultural context.
