Social Services announces the XI edition of the Voluntary Commitment Award (11/11/2019)

The City Council of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services, announces the XI edition of the Voluntary Commitment Awards.

Applications to participate in the awards is until November 26.

The Awards have been presented this Monday, October 11, at the City Hall, by the Councilor for Social Services of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes Garcia.

These awards represent recognition of both individual and collective work, carried out in the exercise of voluntary action;

either oriented in favor of vulnerable people, families or territories, in the promotion of social volunteering or in the development of social projects in which volunteering constitutes an essential element and a reference and example for other people.

Mercedes García, explained that, with these awards, "it is also intended to transfer the collective recognition of the citizens of Cartagena to those people and entities that from the voluntary work, carried out in solidarity, humanitarian and selfless way contribute to social change through values ​​such as commitment and co-responsibility and that from the company, joy, affection, listening contribute to visualize certain groups, promote and defend a more inclusive, more relational, more tolerant and more supportive society. "

As a summary of these ten years of awards, these are some of the winners individually and collectively in the last four editions:

2015.- Individual Modality: Immaculate Bernal Moreno.

Al Raso volunteer.

Collective modality: SOI Foundation Volunteering.

2016.- Individual Modality: Marina Cremades Quinto.

Volunteer of the San Vicente de Paul Charity Association.

Collective Modality: NGO ACCEM.

2017.- Individual Modality: M.ª Jesús Achega Jaúregui.

Volunteer of the La Huertecica Collective.

Collective Modality: Food Bank of the Region of Murcia.

2018.- Individual Modality: María Requena Meana.

Volunteer of the FADE Foundation.

Collective Modality: La Botica del Libro Association.

As stated in the Bid Terms, volunteers, nationals, foreigners or legal entities that develop volunteer projects within social entities and who have distinguished themselves by their outstanding work in the promotion or promotion may be recipients of the Prizes. volunteer management in the municipality of Cartagena.

The aforementioned persons may attend the prizes, or nominations may be submitted in favor of third parties.
