Urban planning paralyzes a demolition next to the CEIP San Felix because it lacked a license and materials with fiber cement were being removed without security (07/11/2019)

The Department of Urban Planning of the City of Cartagena has paralyzed the demolition of two buildings, together with the CEIP San Felix, which lacked the relevant license and were generating debris among which there were materials with fiber cement.

The Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, visited this morning on Thursday, November 7, near the center, after alerting the Local Police and the technicians of the Department of Urban Planning of the need to verify that the works had the relevant permits before doubts that had been generated by the bad management that was being done of the existing waste and the fear of the existence of materials with fiber cement in the facilities, as the technicians corroborated.

The Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, has met with the director of CEIP San Félix, José Antonio García, and with an AMPA representative, José Luis Navarro.

Irene Ruiz stressed that the work has already been paralyzed and that she has contacted the Director General of the Autonomous Community Centers so that the Ministry of Education would be aware of the situation and adopt the measures it deems appropriate.

The director of CEIP San Félix, José Antonio García, said: “I want to call for calm.

Simply, it seems that some works are adjacent to the center.

The operation of the school is absolutely normal. â€

The president of the school's AMPA, José Luis Navarro, states that he learned about the work by neighbors in the neighborhood.

“They were removing, between yesterday and yesterday, two rubble trucks, among which were fiber cement plates.

Knowing what the problem is and the danger that exists, I quickly communicated it to the relevant centers and associations.

The zero platform started work and they called Irene.

They are denying that they have removed fiber cement, but it is clear that there was fiber cement there, because as a child we have jumped the fence to catch balls, and there has always been a uralite roof, and in three days it cannot disappear. â€

Navarro thanked the attention given by the Department of Education of Cartagena and the mayor of the Area, Irene Ruiz.

From the CEIP San Felix, they urge to solve the situation, "because the children are still in the playground playing," says the president of the AMPA of the CEIP San Felix.
